In most rural communities in Kenya, women do particularly well when adequately trained on how to successfully rear farm animals. Armed with this knowledge, SLEC International has for the past four (4) years imparted rural women and young girls with skills in rearing healthy farm animals for domestic and commercial purpose.  We have witnessed women change their families social and economic status by engaging in these income generating activities.

A good example is Jane Achieng, who started off with two hens and one cock in July 2012.  She has a population of 500 indigenous chicken and training 8 women in her community to take up the venture with an aim of meeting the high demand for eggs and meat in neighbouring towns and City.
